¿Pero y qué haremos con los edificios construidos en los últimos tiempos? En el momento en que fueron construidos eran vistos con admiración, por su gran altura y por sus estructuras y materiales tan diferentes.
En cambio hoy nos desagradan, criticamos su estética. ¿Qué haremos con ellos en el futuro? ¿También preservarlos y restaurarlos?
Today a branch of architecture is dedicated to restoration. We have learned to respect the old architecture that surrounds us. We preserve and take care of the historic centers of the cities.
But and what will we do with the buildings constructed in the recent times? At the moment they were built they were seen with admiration, for its huge height and for its structures and materials such different.
However today we dislike them, we criticize its aesthetic. What will we do with them in the future? Also will we preserve them and restore them?
Si la solución fuera tomada ahora llegarían a ser escombros en cuestión de segundos. Derribamos y levantamos ciudades en un afán de limpieza que parece no tener fin. Queremos olvidar cuanto antes lo que en un momento hubo en ese lugar.
¿Pero y si nuestras generaciones futuras continúan con este juego? ¿Y si entramos en un bucle de creación-destrucción? Chiu chih quiere expresar con su proyecto “voyage on the planet” que el mundo está en un constante estado de movimiento, donde los edificios antiguos son demolidos, y los nuevos siguen creciendo. El futuro es un misterio mientras continúa el agotamiento de los recursos energéticos naturales.
If the solution was taken now would become rubble in seconds. We demolish and build cities in a desire of cleaning that seems endless. We want to forget as soon as possible which at one time was in that place.
But what about if our future generations continue with this game? How about if we go into a loop of creation-destruction? Chiu chih wants to express with her project "voyage on the planet" that the world is in a constant state of motion, where the old buildings are demolished, and the new ones keep growing. The future is a mystery while continuing the depletion of natural energy resources.
¿Y si con tanta destrucción, llegamos a generar tantos residuos que no nos da tiempo a reutilizarlos o eliminarlos? ¿Podrían llegar a ser reales algún día las imágenes de la exposición Vórtices de Daniel Canogar? Llegar a ser absorbidos por nuestra propia basura.
Pero y si los verbos derruir y construir no son los correctos. ¿Y si el verbo correcto es transportar? Alomejor olvidamos este juego y empezamos a transportar nuestros edificios, como la vivienda portátil del estudio de arquitectura español Abatón, denominada con el código APH80.
Cada edificio tendría su propio código, su pasaporte con el que poder desplazarse por el mundo. ¿Podría ser ésta la arquitectura del futuro?
What about if with so much destruction, we come to generate such amount of waste that we do not have time enough to reuse or remove them? Could become real someday the images of the exhibition Vórtices of Daniel Canogar? To be finally absorbed in our own garbage.
But what about if the verbs to demolish and to construct are not the correct ones. What about if the right one is to transport? Maybe we forget this game and we began to transport our buildings, as the portable housing of the Spanish architecture studio Abatón, called with the code APH80.
Each building would have its own code, its passport to move through the world. Could this be the architecture of the future?
