producción comienza a seguir unas normas.
In the past, craftsmen were
responsible for the entire production, no one like their hands knew how to work
the materials. They knew in detail their properties and limits.
With the coming of the industrial revolution, the
machine replaces these hands, and the whole production starts to follow a rules.
Standards that reach the construction and make most of the buildings look like
they are from the same family. All follow the same pattern.
Today the production is
digital. This one allows to integrate craft and industry thanks to the
parametric design.
Digital production is
carried out through 3D printers. Until today 3D printing focus their activity
in making small items. However, there are already many architects working in
this area and claim that this kind of printing will soon change the
architecture.
In addition, they don´t want to focus on a single type of mechanism and material, also are investigating the printing with different materials and methods. Today the largest 3D printer in the world is located in Italy, was created by the engineer Enrico Dini, and works with sand instead of nylon.

Very interesting! I hope this is only the first of many formative posts not only oriented for Architects but also for people like me, willing to learn from other fields.
